Visit to Riyom Local Government of Plateau State

On 31st October, tragedy struck communities in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State Nigeria when violent attacks claimed the lives of seven local men. These were fathers, husbands, and sons whose absence left deep wounds in their families and the wider community. In a single night, households were thrown into grief, and widows were left to carry the weight of loss, fear, and uncertainty. Beyond the numbers were broken homes and silent questions about how to move forward. This moment reflected a painful reality faced by many vulnerable communities in Nigeria—where violence disrupts lives and erodes a sense of safety and belonging.

Moved by compassion, RACHAM Foundation, stood with the affected families, visited the communities and met directly with the widows and households impacted by the Gen0side killings, offering not only relief materials, but also presence, comfort, and solidarity. The visit sent a clear message that these families are not forgotten. By responding in a time of grief, World Challenge through RACHAM foundation demonstrated its commitment to restoring dignity, offering hope, and walking alongside communities in their darkest moments—showing that even in the face of loss, compassion can bring light and reassurance.

Beneficiaries: Over 100 widows from Kwi and Wareng Community benefited from the outreach and community support from the donations and emotional support.

We are driven by a strong commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals and communities across the continent, with a focus on promoting empowerment, equality, and sustainable development.
