Goal:

To empower widows in Guidna Community with sustainable livelihood skills and enhance their household resilience.

Details:

Recognizing the economic hardships faced by widows, Racham Foundation organized a free training program in Guidna Community. Widows were trained in practical trades such as tailoring, catering, soap-making, and beadwork. In addition to the training, start-up kits were distributed to enable participants to begin their small businesses immediately. The program was complemented by motivational talks and a caregivers’ support forum, helping widows build resilience and form solidarity groups for peer support. They were also given various Food items.

Beneficiaries: Over 224 widows successfully trained and equipped with empowerment kits.

Objectives:

  • Provide training in income-generating skills.
  • Support widows with empowerment kits to start small businesses.
  • Foster peer learning and women’s solidarity within the community.
