  • RACHAM Skills Acquisition and Empowerment Programme for Widows at Bwari Community

Date: May 2026 | Bwari, Abuja

Details:
RACHAM Foundation extended its widows’ empowerment initiative to Bwari Community, Abuja, with the objective of equipping widows with practical vocational skills that could improve their economic independence and reduce financial vulnerability.

Participants received professional training in soap-making, pastry production, and tailoring. The programme emphasized practical learning, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience while learning business fundamentals that could support future income-generating activities.

The initiative was designed to promote self-sufficiency and strengthen the economic resilience of widows, many of whom are primary caregivers for their families. By providing marketable skills, the Foundation empowered participants to explore entrepreneurship opportunities and improve household livelihoods.

Beneficiaries: A total of 241 widows successfully participated in the skills acquisition programme.

We are driven by a strong commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals and communities across the continent, with a focus on promoting empowerment, equality, and sustainable development.
