Seed Capital Empowerment for Widows

Date: January 27, 2026 | Abuja, Nigeria

Details:
Racham Empowerment and Humanitarian Foundation held a Seed Capital Award Ceremony on January 27, 2026, as part of its ongoing commitment to economic empowerment and sustainable support for vulnerable women. The initiative was designed to help widows strengthen existing small businesses or launch new ventures that would provide stable income for their families.

For many widows, the loss of a spouse often comes with sudden financial strain and the heavy responsibility of single-handedly providing for their children. Limited access to capital and business support makes it difficult to rebuild and achieve financial independence. Recognizing this challenge, Racham Empowerment and Humanitarian Foundation stepped in with practical intervention aimed at restoring dignity, stability, and hope.

During the award ceremony, ten widows received seed capital grants to enhance or start up their businesses. Beyond financial support, the Foundation offered words of encouragement, guidance on responsible fund management, and reaffirmed its commitment to walking alongside the beneficiaries as they grow their enterprises. The atmosphere was filled with gratitude, renewed confidence, and optimism for the future.

This empowerment initiative reflects the Foundation’s mission to create lasting impact by equipping vulnerable women with the tools and resources needed for self-reliance. By investing in these women, Racham is not only supporting individual families but also strengthening the broader community through entrepreneurship and resilience.

Beneficiaries:
10 widows were awarded seed capital to enhance or start their businesses, fostering economic independence and long-term sustainability.

We are driven by a strong commitment to addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals and communities across the continent, with a focus on promoting empowerment, equality, and sustainable development.
